Workers' Compensation Insurance

Workers' compensation insurance is designed to protect workers who are hurt on the job. Oregon law requires all employers to insure their employees with the purchase of such insurance. There are over 200 insurance companies providing workers' compensation insurance in Oregon.

Update: Workers' compensation insurance rate reduced for 2008.

The State of Oregon will reduce the workers' compensation "pure" premium rate by 2.3 percent for 2008, Governor Ted Kulongoski announced September 18, 2007.

This is Oregon's eighteen consecutive year without a rate increase. The department also announced that two workers' compensation fees that pay for workers' compensation and workplace safety programs will remain unchanged in 2008.

Unemployment Insurance

Unemployment insurance benefits are designed to provide temporary financial aid to unemployed workers who meet the eligibility requirements of State law. States administer their own unemployment insurance programs under the umbrella of Federal guidelines.
